GTA 5 cheats for PS4 and PS5

Every GTA 5 cheat code for PS4 and PS5, as button sequences, plus how to enter them and what they do to your trophies.

In shortReported

On PS4 and PS5 you enter GTA 5 cheats as button sequences during Story Mode play: D-pad directions plus the face and shoulder buttons, entered quickly. A message confirms it worked. Using a cheat switches off trophies until you restart the game.

Updated

How to enter cheats

  1. 1Load a save in Story Mode. Cheats do not work in GTA Online.
  2. 2Enter the sequence quickly, during normal play. Arrows are D-pad presses; ✕ is the Cross button.
  3. 3Look for the on-screen confirmation. If you get nothing, you were too slow or pressed a wrong button, so start the sequence again.

Worth knowing

  • The same button codes work on PS3, PS4 and PS5. PS3 has no phone cheats.
  • Some guides say you can also enter codes on the pause menu, with the cheat applying when you unpause. Entering them during play is the safe option.
  • The Dodo, Duke O’Death and Kraken cheats have no button code. Use the phone numbers instead.

Before you use cheats

  • Cheats only work in Story Mode, never in GTA Online.
  • Any cheat switches off trophies and achievements for the rest of that game session. You can still save, but cheats are not saved with it. Quit and restart the game to earn trophies again.
  • Using a cheat during a mission caps that attempt at a Bronze medal.
  • Some cheats are blocked during missions or in certain places. You will see “Cheat Denied”.
  • Entering most cheats again switches them off.
  • There is no money cheat in GTA 5.

PS4 & PS5 cheats FAQ

Do the PS4 cheats work on PS5?

Yes. The PS5 version uses the same codes. We found no statement from Rockstar that the 2022 PS5 release added, removed or changed any cheat, and current guides list the same set.

Do cheats disable trophies on PS5?

Yes, for the rest of that game session. Rockstar says trophies are temporarily disabled while cheats are in use. Quit and restart the game to earn them again.
