Does GTA 6 have online multiplayer?
GTA 6 launches as a single-player game. Take-Two and Sony both describe it as a single-player experience, no online mode has been announced, and Take-Two says it will keep supporting the current GTA Online after launch.
Take-Two’s pre-order announcement says GTA VI “features a single-player experience”, and Sony’s FAQ answers the multiplayer question the same way. At a September 2026 shareholder meeting, Take-Two called it a single-player title and said GTA Online will keep being supported after GTA VI’s release.
Will there be a GTA 6 Online?
Nothing official. In September 2026, Twitch’s CEO told Bloomberg he expected a bigger bump “next year when they launch multiplayer”. Rockstar has not confirmed any such mode or date, so that remains speculation.
